2013 Schedule

"Classic motor cycle racing will provide the exciting, spectacular core of this wonderful Summer Festival weekend. And onto that great base, with our friends from CRMC doing their usual excellent job, we will be building a wide range of other attractions for everyone from the dedicated bike enthusiast to a family on their first ever visit to Donington. This is set to be a minimum 3 year plan to create and build up a special Summer Festival of Motorcycling here at Donington Park, and we have every expectation that we can amply fill an existing gap in the annual calendar by providing something ‘different' and fun, at great value prices".

The Directors of Donington Park have announced an all-new event for summer 2013, a major motorcycle festival with appeal for racers, riders, off roaders, traders, suppliers and manufacturers all based in and around the famous race circuit at Castle Donington, just off M1 at Junction 23A.

Working in conjunction with the established market leaders in organising race meetings, the Classic Motorcycle Racing Club - CRMC - which enjoys a strong following among owners and racers at the pinnacle of classic motorcycling, and with support from Bauer Media's market leading title, ‘Classic Bike', Donington Park expects to build this new event over coming years into the country's premier festival on the country's best bike racing circuit.

In summer 2012, CRMC ran a successful 2 day event of races, with over 400 riders competing in 30 different, dramatic races. As well as the classic racing regulars, visiting superstars of the 2 wheel world past and present included Carl Fogarty, Phil Read, Steve Baker, Jamie Whitham, Chas Mortimer, and Pentti Korhonen. Visiting teams came from over 10 different countries, and the Yamaha Classic Racing Team brought over a wide selection of iconic racing machines. It is upon this solid and experienced basis of high quality racing, bikes and riders that the partners in this new joint venture look to build a 3 day weekend of spectacular action, enjoyable club meetings, trial ride outs, side shows and an auction, music, food and biker friendly camping - with new attractions looking to join the Festival over the coming months of planning and preparation.
